IMHA Funding Programs: Workshops/ Mentorship

WORKSHOP PROGRAM

In addition to CIHR's KT Workshop Program, IMHA manages a Workshop Program that supports innovative health research that supports excellence in research and knowledge translation/exchange. This program is highly strategic and is designed to bring people together to interact (cross-pillar and multi-disciplinary) to further define unmet research needs. Please note: You CANNOT submit the same application to both CIHR"s and IMHA’s Workshop Programs at the same time. For further details on this program, please visit:  www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/26599.html.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

IMHA’s Mentorship Program is comprised of two modules: Short-Term Visits and Visiting Professorships.

The Short -Term Visits Program enables developing or established researchers to spend up to three months in a specific location focusing on the acquisition of new concepts, knowledge, or techniques to broaden their research perspectives and skills. This program provides a maximum of $66,000 per fiscal year, subject to availability of funding, to support research that supports IMHA’s three strategic research priorities across one or more of CIHR’s four  health research pillars. For further details, please visit: http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/23932.html

IMHA's Visiting Professorship Program is aimed at bringing in "role models" with whom students, postdoctoral fellows and/or junior faculty members can interact to further enhance the training environment of trainees and young investigators engaged in arthritis, bone, muscle, skin, MSK rehabilitation or oral health research. Visiting professors add value by virtue of their scientific expertise and their teaching and mentorship ability. Such professors may become valued collaborators of faculty members and/or co-supervisors of students/postdoctoral fellows within a program.
