Program of the CLAE-CERI Retreat  

MEETING OUTLINE


FRIDAY (2005-09-23) EVENING:
Introduction/overview:

a) To summarize the CERI’s goals, activities to date; to outline funding sources. A brief presentation by a CIHR representative and by representatives of other funding agencies.

b) Keynote addresses stressing translational aspects of research, from a basic scientist (Dan McIntyre) and a clinician (Warren Blum followed by discussion.

SATURDAY (2005-09-24):
Development of Themes and Teams

Themes & Teams (T & T) are invited to organize panel - workshops for all participants (there will be no parallel sessions). T&T should provide an overview of their field and outline the important issues in a Canadian collaborative context. Presentations will be balanced with a discussion involving all participants.

Posters
There are separate times dedicated exclusively to viewing the posters. Every participant and/or every lab/program is invited to present a poster(s) outlining their interests or presenting specific research results.

Saturday evening: 
Dinner and time for T&T to further their research strategies.

SUNDAY (2005-09-25)
Additional T & T presentations. 

Wrap-up session:
Each T&T will present a report to the collected audience; it should include plans of action, outlines of projects, possible grant applications.
