Denise Crépin Appointed VP NA by the IBE  

Montreal, December 6, 2005 - The President of Epilepsy Canada, Dr. Donald F. Weaver, is pleased to announce the appointment of Denise Crépin, National Executive Director of Epilepsy Canada, as the Vice-President North America of the International Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE).  In this additional new volunteer role, she will be a member of the organization's Executive Committee.

Denise Crépin has been holding the position of National Executive Director of Epilepsy Canada since 1988. Ms. Crépin has gained extensive organizational, administrative and fundraising experience throughout her career in various volunteer organizations. She is a highly motivated, creative and organized individual with strong analytical and problem solving skills. She serves as member of different ad hoc committees, steering committees and task forces from coast to coast.

Prior to joining Epilepsy Canada, Ms. Crépin was the Executive Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada (Quebec Division) from 1981 to 1988. She was responsible for its complete restructuring as well as for the viability of the Telethon, main fundraising event. Among her many successes, was her ability to implement and develop new fundraising programs that dramatically improved the revenues of the organization. 

Before joining the health charities sector, Ms. Crépin spent 15 years at the Royal Victoria Hospital and McGill University working the last 8 years in Continuing Medical Education.
